Winter's Tale

Even though the crocus are getting ready to bloom, this photo gallery from the Portland Press Herald is so stunning, I had to share. Makes me almost sad that winter is leaving us. Almost.

Wow. I want to go where winter looks like that (but without the new age wind chime music). The key must be to stay south of Edgecomb.

Up here on Penobscot Bay all we get is dirty snow banks, cracked and peeling siding, ice caked sidewalks and the smell of lukewarm dulse from the seaweed plant all winter long (with nary a picturesque frosted buoy to be seen). Next year I'm going to take rooms in Lincoln County and commute to work and to see my family...

Oh, and Spring status report- all snow gorn from Rockland, the occasional brave cherry or apple blossom is emerging. 45 deg f and holding....
