Here We Go Indians, Here We Go

My best friend, my brother and my brother's best friend will be visiting the house that Ruth built tonight--two cheering on the Indians and one (my friend) cheering on the Yankees.

My little Yankees buddy is going to have to be very quiet as she's going to be sitting in the Indians play-by-play production area, compliments of this guy--a high school friend of my brother.

Retired Guy and I agree on this: we really, really want the Indians to finish them off tonight. We do NOT want the Red Sox to face the Yankees, and mostly, we really want to find out if George will fire Joe.

Bush League

Is there no low too low for A-Rod? If he's not using his pretty purse to take a swipe at Bronson, he's willing to squeal like a baby to help the Yanks win. Evidently, when you're 14.5 games out of first, all's fair, even dubious methods:

Rodriguez said he was just trying to help the Yankees win.
"We're desperate," he told reporters. "We haven't won a game in a little bit now. We won the game."
Johnny Damon doesn't know if it's legal ("I wasn't sure that was allowed," outfielder Johnny Damon said.) but he's desperate enough to not really care ("If it is, maybe we'll keep on doing it."), and Joe Torre appears to need some therapy to help him process his emotions ("I don't know what to feel for it.").

Oh, how the mighty have fallen....oh, how heroes have been reduced to mortals. What's next, Johnny's Jesus-look making a return in pinstripes?

It Shoulda Been Opening Day in Portland

But Mother Nature denies the Seadogs. Portland got 12 inches of snow.
A State of Emergency was declared by Gov. Baldacci, allowing power crews from neighboring states to help turn the lights back on. 94,000 homes and businesses are without power.

The National Weather Service predicts that this will be the state's third heaviest April snowfall. Christmas weather at Easter must be payback for Easter weather at Christmas.
